Happiness, Mind-Body Healing, and Mental Health Issues from the Tibetan Tradition

Karma Rinpoche will speak about Tibetan traditions and practices, including the place of ritual and their relationship to well being.

Colorful ceremonies are central to these traditions and Karma Rinpoche is noted for his expertise in performing such ceremonies.

Attendees will experience ceremonies led by Karma Rinpoche from the Tantric perspective as part of the day's activities.

Additional activities will include an explanation, discussion, and demonstration of one of the most profound and vital Tibetan practices, the Chod Practice (from the Dzogchen tradition).

After the lunch break, attendees will have the opportunity to view a feature length film, "The Yogis of Tibet". The film is a profound historical, spiritual, and educational account of the tradition of the great master yogis of Tibet. In the fi lm, several yogis discuss teachings passed down through the generations about meditation, controlling the mind, and rising above the physical plane of existence.

During the lunch break for the continuing education unit event with Karma Rinpoche on Saturday, the Tibet Association of Tulane University will be selling Tibetan vegetable momos.
